4th of July Ice Cream

Ingredients -

• 2 cups heavy whipping cream
• 1 can sweetened condensed milk
• 1 tbsp vanilla extract
• ½ of a 3 oz package of vanilla pudding mix
• 1 box white cake mix + ingredients to make
• Red and blue food coloring
• Red, white and blue sprinkles

Instructions -

1. Make your cake mix according to package instructions.

2. Divide into 3 bowls.  Color one red, one blue and leave the last white.

3. Pour into a cupcake pan and bake according to instructions.

4. Allow cupcakes to fully cool and crumble them.

5. In a bowl, pour 2 cups of heavy whipping cream and whip until stiff peaks begin to form.  

(A mixer is totally useful for this, but you can do it by hand if you don’t have one!)

6. In a separate bowl, pour in 1 can sweetened condensed milk.  

7. Add 1 tbsp vanilla and the vanilla pudding.  Mix well.

8. Add in about 1 cupcake each red, white and blue.  Stir to mix.

9. Pour in some sprinkles.  

10. Combine your red, white and blue mix to your whipped cream.  Fold in the patriotic mix carefully to keep your cream nice and whipped.  

11. In a metal loaf pan, pour about half of the mixture.

12. Layer the top with crumbled cupcakes and pour the remaining ice cream mixture on top.

13. Crumble one last time with cupcake crumbles and sprinkle with sprinkles.

14. Cover with press and seal or plastic wrap and freeze for 24 hours.

You will actually download a printable bee template to create this cute bee out of felt before attaching it to your card and completing the message. The craft itself may be a little advanced for little ones, but you can make it easier for them if you go ahead and cut their pieces for them. Creating a Summer Schedule to Keep Kids Busy

Summer doesn’t have to feel like your life is chaotic and disorganized. By creating a summer schedule to help keep kids busy is a great way to make the most of your summer. Your schedule can be flexible and you can spread out activities and outings to help stimulate and keep them busy.

Summer goes by so fast and it is the perfect time to enjoy the nice warm weather! Granted might be a day or two here and there to just stay indoors, but you can have things on hand to make it a fun day too.

How to Create A Summer Schedule

Simple Routine

Take a moment and create a schedule or even routine you want your kids to follow. It doesn’t have to be a strict layout but items you want them to have completed by a certain time of time of day.

Example: After waking up, get dressed, make the bed, eat breakfast, then brush teeth.

Then for activities, you can put 30 minutes of outdoor playtime, 30 minutes tablet time, etc.

You can give them options or make a list of different activities like creative play, be building things with blocks so that they have a form of a schedule to follow each day.

Activities

When it comes to adding activities and outings to the calendar maybe let your child help. They can help pick if they want to a theme day of fun activities, have more of a lounge relaxed day, and what playtime activities they might want.

When they get to help pick it will really help them to be more open to doing it. Plus if you spread things out and one day does a pool day and the next home activities it will help give them variety and keep them from getting bored.

A Sample of Schedule:

• 8-9| Basic morning items, get dressed, eat, etc.
• 9-9:45| Outdoor playtime or building stuff with blocks.
• 9:45-10| Snacktime.
• 10-10:25| Tablet time or watch a show on tv.
• 10:25-11| Free play time to do a craft of play in the room or outdoors.
• 11-12| lunchtime
• 12-1| Quiet time or nap
• 1-3| pool time
• Etc.

Below is a Schedule I mad for my family your welcome to use. At the bottom I left the days open so we can fill in if we want to do an outing, like the zoo, museum , or a water park!!

Now if it is rainy or too hot, you can always change the activities for that day. I add structure to the day just like school to make it easier. It’s okay if one day you wake up and completely change the schedule and go do something fun. This isn’t set in stone and your free to change and tweak.

It can just help kids really learn and grow over the summer and stick to a relaxed schedule which helps when school starts back up. I also do like to incorporate learning activities in the summer to help keep their minds learning and growing as well.

Summer Bucket List For Families To Do Together

Are you considering creating a summer bucket list for the family? This is a great way for you all to find ways to do things together and help pass the time away this summer. I wanted to help give you some inspiration on things you might consider doing together as a family. Spending time together and doing fun things is a great way to grow your bond as a family, instill family routes, and just enjoy the nice warm sunshine days. 

What I recommend doing is sharing this list with all the members of the family. Each person can look it over and pick a few items they want to do personally, or find inspiration from it to come up with totally new ideas. Then grab a pen and paper and create a list of what you plan to do this summer. Add the items on the calendar and spread them out. Then each time something comes along from your list, head out and do it, and then mark it off your summer bucket list.

Little kids will love being able to help pick the activities and even more fun to watch the list get marked off. There are no rules to how many things you have to accomplish in the summer, that is totally up to you! Just have fun and create some lasting memories. 

Great Summer Bucket List Ideas For The Entire Family 

Farmer's Market 

Head out and visit a farmer's market. Find some great produce or goodies to purchase and come home and create a meal together as a family! 

Bike Ride 

Get everyone on board and head out for a bike ride around your neighborhood or go biking down some trails! 

Camping 

Whether you camp in your backyard or travel somewhere, maybe you want to be able to enjoy nature through the night. 

Water Balloon Fight

Grab some balloons and have a water balloon fight in your backyard. Get creative and set up little hiding areas, grab some water guns even and have a ball. 

Zoo or Aquarium

Head out to a zoo or aquarium and spend the day. Help your kids learn about the animals and just have fun seeing all the neat animals along the way. 

Movie Day

Consider renting some movies or watching your favorites and just lounging on the couch all day relaxing. 

Pizza Night 

Grab some pizza crusts and let each member make their own personal pizza with all the fun toppings. 

Hotel Stay 

Even if you stay at a hotel in your town, just go stay somewhere else for a night. It is a fun change of scenery and the kids will love it. 

New Class 

Maybe you take up a pottery class, learn to dance, a cooking class or more as a family. You all can learn a new skill together. 

Craft Day 

Spend the day making crafts for the home from homemade bird feeders, window clings and more. Pinterest has tons of easy crafts you can find. 

Volunteer 

Take the time and help those in need. Whether you rake up leaves and pick up sticks, or head to a local homeless shelter and volunteer as a family. 

Bird Watch

Grab some binoculars and head out and bird watch for the day. Pull up the types of birds you think you spotted and see if they are right on your phone or even in a bird book.
